The Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah International Foundation for Energy and Sustainable Development has appointed Dr Saud Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah as chairman of its Board of Trustees.
Dr Saud brings more than two decades of experience in economic policy, fiscal strategy and public-private partnerships.
He currently serves as Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at Qatar’s Ministry of Finance, where he oversees economic policy, investment strategy and public-private partnership initiatives.
During his career, Dr Saud has held several senior government roles, including Director of Economic Policy and Research at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Director of the Legacy Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and Head of Economic and Financial Crime at the Ministry of Interior.
He has also served on the boards of several national institutions and represented Qatar in strategic engagements with global organisations including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
The foundation said that under Dr Saud’s leadership, it will continue to strengthen its role as an independent voice in global energy and sustainability discussions while advancing the vision of its founder, the late Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah.
