Qatar Chamber second vice-chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba affirmed that the speech of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani before the Shura Council yesterday represents a new starting point towards a more resilient and sustainable economy.
Al-Athba stressed that Qatar Chamber would continue to work to translate these directives into programs and initiatives that serve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
He said the speech outlined Qatar’s future economic vision, reaffirmed the State’s steadfast position in supporting Gaza and promoting peace, and highlighted the importance of family and health as pillars of sustainable development.
He noted that His Highness the Amir’s speech emphasised the need to direct the energies of the state and society toward clear priorities that contribute to building a diversified and competitive economy. He explained that the address underlined the importance of economic diversification, enhancing the role of the private sector, and focusing on developing human capital and empowering national cadres.
Al-Athba said the speech also highlighted the pivotal role of human development in building a sustainable future, stimulating investment in health infrastructure, and improving the quality of life for all members of society.
It also, he noted, reaffirmed the importance of continuing efforts to diversify the economy and empower the private sector to be an effective partner in development.
He also underscored the chamber’s support for this vision and its commitment to helping create the right environment for achieving comprehensive and sustainable growth.
Al-Athba noted that Qatar’s position on the Gaza issue, as expressed in His Highness the Amir’s speech, was clear, principled, and unwavering, reflecting the state’s firm commitment to justice and human rights. He noted that His Highness the Amir reiterated the need to end the Israeli aggression on Gaza and to stop targeting civilians and infrastructure, reaffirming Qatar’s consistent moral and international stance in support of the legitimate rights of Palestinians.
He added that supporting the Palestinian people is not only a political or humanitarian responsibility, but also a moral duty shared by all sectors of the state, including the business community, which can contribute to reconstruction and economic recovery efforts.
