Amir’s Speech Outlines Clear Vision for Strengthening National Economy: Qatar Chamber Vice-Chair

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s speech before the Shura Council yesterday “clearly reflects” his wise vision to continue the path of inclusive development and to strengthen Qatar’s stance as one of the fastest-growing, most diversified, and most stable economies in the region and the world.

Qatar Chamber first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari said the speech was comprehensive and expressed the nation’s aspirations for a more prosperous and sustainable future by strengthening the pillars of the national economy and supporting the private sector as a key partner in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

He noted that it serves as a major catalyst for businessmen and investors to further enhance innovation and expand productive and investment activities.

Al-Kuwari highlighted that High Highness the Amir’s emphasis on strengthening public-private partnerships and enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector through programmes that open new investment opportunities across numerous projects and assets, affirming that this reflects Qatar’s commitment to achieving inclusive growth and increasing the private sector’s contribution to the national economy.

Al-Kuwari said Qatar Chamber views the speech as a new roadmap for advancing Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and accelerating Qatari companies' participation in major development projects, particularly in sectors such as industry, food security, technology, renewable energy, and the circular economy.

He noted that the speech laid out a clear vision for strengthening the national economy by supporting economic diversification and expanding the role of the private sector, thereby setting the foundations for sustainable development in various fields.

Al-Kuwari further pointed out that the speech reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian people and the Gaza cause, emphasising the importance of achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

He stressed that the speech also underscored the importance of diversifying income sources, enhancing self-sufficiency, and creating an investment-friendly environment.

Al-Kuwari noted that stimulating the private sector requires continued development of the legislative framework, facilitation of procedures, and providing incentives that enhance the competitiveness of national enterprises and pave the way for more initiatives in strategic sectors, such as industry, services, technology, and food security.
