Aqarat Hosts Forum on ‘Real Estate Investor’s Journey in Qatar’

The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) organised ‘Real Estate Investor's Journey in Qatar’ forum, with broad participation from government agencies, real estate developers, real estate brokers, banks, and a number of local and international investors.

This forum is part of Aqarat's ongoing efforts to develop an integrated and attractive investment environment.

The forum reviewed the real estate investor's journey, which aims to digitise the comprehensive process of purchasing real estate in Qatar within a single platform, create an appropriate environment to attract foreign direct investment, and enhance transparency and ease of access to information about the real estate sector in general.

This is achieved through Aqarat's commitment to simplifying and facilitating procedures for investors.

This journey was prepared in co-operation with the Civil Service Bureau, the Ministries of Interior and Justice, and other government agencies and partners to ensure integrated and co-ordinated efforts.

The forum also highlighted the joint efforts made by the authority, in co-operation with strategic partners, to develop a unified digital window, aiming to enable real estate investors to complete all procedures easily and smoothly, from the moment the ownership decision is made to the completion of related transactions.

In his opening remarks, Aqarat Chairman Khalid bin Ahmed al-Obaidli noted that organising this forum represents the culmination of a series of meetings held by the Authority with relevant authorities.

The aim is to redesign the real estate investor journey in a comprehensive digital format, based on the use of artificial intelligence and the unification of data sources.

This will provide a smoother and more effective investment experience, enhance transparency, and enhance the efficiency of procedures, thus supporting the business environment in the country.

Mubarak al-Nuaimi, Director, Licensing Department at the Authority, gave a comprehensive presentation, reviewing the stages of the real estate investor journey, starting from the exploration and search for investment opportunities, through the procedures for purchasing and registering a property.

During the presentation, he explained how the redesigned journey has contributed to making it smoother and more efficient, in line with investor aspirations and digital developments in the real estate sector.

The forum provided a dialogue platform for exchanging insights and experiences among various stakeholders in the real estate ecosystem. The most prominent legislative and financing developments were discussed, and future growth opportunities in the Qatari real estate market were reviewed, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The participation of banks contributed to enriching discussions related to real estate financing mechanisms, the facilities provided to investors, and ways to enhance financial inclusion in the sector.

The forum featured interactive sessions where a number of investors shared their experiences in owning real estate in Qatar.

They also discussed the most prominent challenges facing investors and the vital role played by government agencies and financial institutions in facilitating procedures and accelerating completion.

The forum is organised within the framework of the authority's commitment to improving the real estate investor experience, enhancing transparency, and increasing the efficiency of services, thus contributing to driving growth and diversifying the national economy.
