Doha, September 10 (QNA) - The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) has unveiled the new identity of the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2026 as preparations are completed for the fourth edition of the event, held under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, from Oct. 27 to 29 2026, in partnership with Cityscape Qatar at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
On preparations for the Forum, HE Chairman of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki said that the fourth edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum is being held at a time when the region and the world are witnessing rapid geopolitical developments affecting various economic sectors. This places particular importance on the forum's discussions on the future of the real estate sector and its ability to adapt to all emerging developments.
His Excellency noted that the real estate sector has demonstrated resilience in navigating regional geopolitical developments, supported by a notable improvement in the business environment and investment climate, as well as the rapid development of real estate regulations and legislation. These developments have had a positive impact on the sector's performance and strengthened investor confidence in the real estate sector.
The forum brings together government leaders, developers, investors, policymakers and senior decision-makers in the sector to discuss the factors shaping the future of real estate, review challenges and opportunities, and explore practical pathways to support sector growth and enhance its ability to attract domestic and foreign investment.
The forum's new identity reflects the rapid evolution of the real estate sector toward a more transparent and regulated environment, enhancing the investment appeal of the real estate market. Over its three previous editions, the forum has established itself as a platform bringing together government entities, developers, investors, experts and decision-makers to exchange expertise and insights on key developments, opportunities and challenges, and to discuss policies and initiatives capable of supporting the growth and sustainability of the real estate sector.
The new identity also highlights the forum's direction toward building more impactful dialogue and connecting strategic visions with practical solutions, contributing to the development of a competitive real estate environment capable of attracting domestic and foreign investment. It also supports growth, innovation and strategic cooperation within the real estate sector, while exploring promising investment opportunities in the Qatari market.
According to data from the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice, the value of real estate transactions increased by 5.84 percent during the first half of 2026, reaching QAR 10.69 billion, compared with approximately QAR 10.1 billion during the same period last year. The increase in transaction values reflects continued market activity and the sector's ability to maintain momentum despite geopolitical developments, supported by ongoing development projects, an improved business environment, and a legislative and regulatory framework aimed at enhancing transparency and strengthening confidence and stability in the real estate market.
The attractiveness of real estate investment in the State of Qatar is underpinned by several factors, including economic stability, advanced
infrastructure, and a clear legislative framework governing non-Qataris' ownership and usufruct rights in real estate. The framework allows non-Qatari investors to own freehold property in designated areas, in addition to usufruct rights for periods of up to 99 years in other areas.
It also allows for the ownership of subdivided units within residential and commercial complexes in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements, providing investors with diverse options aligned with the nature and objectives of their investments.
These developments come as the real estate sector continues to play an important role in supporting economic activity and diversifying the investment base. The forum provides a platform to discuss ways to develop the market, enhance its efficiency and capitalize on emerging opportunities in line with the needs of investors and developers, while strengthening the sector's long-term competitiveness. The forum's agenda is expected to focus on issues related to the future of the real estate market, including developments in the regulatory and investment environment, market trends, and the role of innovation and cooperation between the public and private sectors in supporting real estate development.
The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Cityscape Qatar.
