Doha, August 03 (QNA) - The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' continues the Construction of a New Rainwater Pump Station in Semaisma.
This comes as part of Ashghal's ongoing efforts to develop sustainable infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of rainwater drainage networks, according to the Authority's press release on Monday.
The project seeks to improve road safety, enhance quality of life, and support urban development across Qatar.
Project Engineer at the Drainage Networks Projects Department Eng. Ali Mostafawi said that the project aims to complete an advanced rainwater collection and drainage system in Semaisma, through the construction of a modern pump station connected to the rainwater drainage network currently being implemented under the Semaisma Project (Package 4).
Rainwater will be collected and pumped to a designated collection point for future reuse, contributing to more efficient water resource management and supporting environmental sustainability, he added.
The project serves Semaisma Main Street and Semaisma West Street. It forms part of an integrated system designed to enhance the area's preparedness during the rainy season and reduce rainwater accumulation, Eng. Mostafawi said. This will help maintain smooth traffic flow, improve road safety, and ensure service continuity during rainfall.
The project includes the construction of a new stormwater pump station, together with the associated infrastructure and supporting facilities required to connect it to the area's stormwater drainage network, the Project Engineer noted.
These works will enhance the efficiency of the stormwater drainage network, reduce the risk of stormwater accumulation and flooding, and further develop infrastructure services to meet the area's current and future needs, while supporting the population growth and urban expansion in Semaisma. (QNA)
