RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index closed 0.1 percent lower at 10,704.51 on Wednesday.
The MT30 index declined 0.05 percent to 1,424.07, while the NomuC index rose 0.19 percent to 22,581.79.
A total of 205.8 million shares changed hands on the main market, with trading valued at SR3.9 billion ($1.04 billion).
Top movers
Saudi Real Estate Co. led the gainers, climbing 5.62 percent to SR18.03, followed by Saudi Chemical Co., which rose 3.68 percent to SR8.45.
Alwasail Industrial Co. advanced 2.77 percent to SR2.97, while Jamjoom Pharmaceuticals Factory Co. gained 2.69 percent to SR148.90.
Umm Al Qura for Development and Construction Co. rounded out the top five gainers, adding 2.46 percent to close at SR17.52.
On the downside, Arabian Co. for Agricultural and Industrial Investment was the biggest loser, falling 6.35 percent to SR27.12.
Aldawaa Medical Services Co. dropped 4.20 percent to SR41.56. Tanmiah Food Co. fell 4 percent to SR60, while Allied Cooperative Insurance Group lost 3.49 percent to close at SR7.20.
Tadawul announcements
On the announcement front, Methanol Chemicals Co. said its extraordinary general meeting approved the company’s request to reduce its capital, with the Saudi Exchange setting the share price used to calculate fluctuation limits at SR39.88.
The company will remain suspended from trading due to its failure to announce its financial results, while the Securities Depository Center Co. will reflect the share reduction in investors’ portfolios by July 19.
Separately, Jarir Marketing Co. reported an 18 percent increase in net profit to SR489 million for the first half of 2026, compared with SR414.5 million a year earlier, as revenue rose 10.8 percent to SR5.81 billion.
The company attributed the increase to higher sales across most sections, particularly smartphones, alongside improved performance at its Gulf Cooperation Council subsidiaries.
Gross profit increased 18.2 percent, supported by improved margins and the absence of promotional price reductions amid supply scarcity. Second-quarter net profit rose 19.5 percent to SR235.6 million, while revenue increased 7.2 percent to SR2.77 billion.
Jarir Marketing Co. closed at SR18.10, up 1.4 percent
