Commercial Bank and Invest Qatar, the country’s Investment Promotion Agency, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in attracting foreign investment, facilitating business establishment and supporting economic growth in Qatar.
The partnership establishes a framework for combining Commercial Bank’s financial expertise and banking services with Invest Qatar’s investment promotion capabilities to provide international investors with enhanced support as they enter and expand their presence in the Qatari market.
Under the agreement, Invest Qatar will facilitate engagement between Commercial Bank and prospective foreign investors and companies exploring business opportunities in Qatar. Commercial Bank will offer a range of banking products and services to support investors and businesses in establishing and expanding their operations.
These services will include tailored banking solutions, dedicated relationship support and onboarding assistance for employees relocating to Qatar.
The two organisations will also explore joint initiatives, knowledge-sharing programmes, publications and events aimed at promoting Qatar’s evolving financial and business ecosystem.
As part of the collaboration, both parties will work towards integrating their digital platforms to facilitate a more seamless and efficient account-opening process for investors and businesses operating in the country.
Fahad Badar, EGM Chief Wholesale and International Banking Officer of Commercial Bank, said the partnership reinforces the bank’s commitment to supporting companies and entrepreneurs choosing Qatar as a base for their growth ambitions.
“By combining our banking expertise with Invest Qatar’s investment promotion efforts, we aim to make it easier for investors to establish and grow their presence in Qatar, while contributing to the continued development and diversification of the national economy,” he said.
Jassim Al Naama, Chief Government and Corporate Affairs Officer at Invest Qatar, said the collaboration would strengthen the country’s investment ecosystem by providing international investors with access to integrated financial solutions and tailored support.
He said partnerships with leading financial institutions play an important role in facilitating investment, creating new business opportunities and supporting Qatar’s growth as a global investment destination.
The agreement reflects both organisations’ commitment to improving the investor experience and supporting Qatar’s long-term economic development.
