Consumer Goods is the Only Sector With Increasing Earnings

One sector managed to buck the trend as earnings weakened across most of the QSE.

For the six month period ending 30 June 2026, Consumer Goods & Services was the only QSE sector to

record an increase in total net profit, rising 6.58% compared with the same period in 2025.

The picture elsewhere was very different. Industrial companies recorded the largest decline, with

combined net profit falling 60.47%. Real Estate and Transportation were also down 9.56% and 8.15%

respectively. Telecoms declined 1.19%, while Insurance and Banks & Financial Services were

comparatively stable, slipping 0.45% and 0.15%.

Overall, QSE listed companies reported QAR 23.63 billion in net profit, down 11.37% from QAR 26.66

billion a year earlier.

For investors in Qatar, the sector view adds another layer to that headline decline. The market did not

move uniformly. Some sectors held relatively steady, one grew, while others experienced much sharper

earnings declines.

That makes looking beneath the market total important. Where a company operates can tell a very

different earnings story from the QSE headline number.
