Doha, October 27 (QNA) - The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has launched a public consultation on the final two phases of its Market Definition and Dominance Designation (MDDD) review, within the current 2024–2026 cycle of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Competition Framework review and update project, providing stakeholders with an opportunity to share their views and comments on the proposed regulatory approach.
The consultation covers Phase 4, which focuses on assessing market dominance and identifying Dominant Service Providers (DSPs) in the relevant markets, and Phase 5, which addresses the proposed regulatory remedies. It seeks stakeholder feedback and inputs on the assessment findings and proposed approach, which will support CRA in making its final decision.
This consultation builds on the previous phases of the comprehensive review process and forms part of CRA’s continued efforts to develop the ICT regulatory framework, promote effective competition, enhance proportionate regulatory impact, clarity and transparency, support investment and innovation, and improve outcome for consumers and businesses. These efforts are aligned with the objectives of the Digital Agenda 2030, the Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030, and Qatar National Vision 2030. (QNA)
