Details of New GACA Regulations

The official Umm Al-Qura newspaper published on May 23 the details of the recent Cabinet decision on approving the new regulations of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

 

Under the decision, GACA board of directors will have the authority to determine the financial charges mentioned in Article 6 of the regulations, in agreement with the Ministry of Finance and the Non-Oil Revenue Development Center.

 

This arrangement will remain in place until the issuance and implementation of the governance framework for imposing financial charges on services and works provided by entities authorized by law to impose such charges.

 

In addition, the current GACA board of directors will continue to exercise its powers and responsibilities until the end of its term or a new board is formed, whichever comes first.

 

Likewise, the GACA President—starting from the effective date of the regulations—will continue to receive his current employment benefits and carry out his duties and responsibilities. This will continue until the board of directors appoints a new President or the elapse of four years from the issuance of this decision, whichever comes first.
