Douglas C Power Appointed to CQBF Board of Directors

The Canadian-Qatari Business Forum (CQBF) has announced the appointment of Douglas C Power to its board of directors.

CQBF executive director Yasser Dhouib said Power will represent the Atlantic region, bringing its strategic investment potential and economic leverage to the forefront of prospective Canadian-Qatari business and investor relations.

Power is a dynamic innovator with over 30 years of expertise in business development and facilitation.

Throughout his career, he has pioneered innovative solutions and services across various sectors, including clinical programmes and services, underscoring his deep commitment to advancing socioeconomic progress.

He has held pivotal roles in nonprofit organisations and community support groups, earning significant insights into public service and provincial politics.

As a seasoned entrepreneur, he has successfully owned and managed multiple companies, serving as a trusted facilitator and organiser for projects in the public, institutional, and private sectors, particularly for technology firms with national and international expansion goals.

With a strong foundation in marketing, Power has represented leading industries at numerous national and global trade shows and co-operative programmes. His broad expertise spans market analysis, business development, management consulting, start-ups, investor relations, strategic growth planning, and entrepreneurship.

His recent professional endeavours have taken him abroad, notably to Doha, Qatar, where he served at the College of the North Atlantic–Qatar (CNAQ). There, he advised private entities and individuals worldwide, leveraging his extensive network, resources, and senior management experience to unlock new international business opportunities.

Power’s global network spans the Middle East, Africa, Australia, East Asia, and the Caribbean, where he continues to foster economic partnerships. Through strategic alliances, he has opened new pathways for trade and investment, significantly advancing initiatives, such as the CQBF’s presence in Atlantic Canada.

His mission aligns closely with CQBF’s mandate: to promote economic growth and technological innovation, particularly in areas intersecting with homeland security and global strategic interests.
