Eid Al Adha 2023 Dates Revealed for Expected Six-Day Weekend

UAE residents are expected to get a long break on account of Eid Al Adha 2023, with a prospective six-week weekend. Expected dates have been announced to give residents a chance to plan ahead.

Eid Al Adha 2023 dates

  • Wednesday, June 28
  • Thursday, June 29
  • Friday, June 30

Arafat Day is expected to fall on Tuesday, June 27. With the Eid holidays falling in line with the scheduled UAE weekend, residents can expect up to a six-day long break.

Official announcements are pending based on the decision following the moon sighting.

Residents can get up to nine days off by applying strategically for Eid Al Adha 2023 by using only one day of annual leave.

Travel searches saw a surge ahead of the Eid Al Fitr 2023 holidays with residents looking for hassle-free travel destinations. Visa-free countries saw the most demand during this period.

How to get nine-days off with one day of annual leave

Based on the estimated holiday dates, here is how you can plan your vacation in the UAE, assuming weekends on Saturdays and Sundays.

Arafat Day is the next holiday announced in the UAE for 2023, which falls on the second day of Dhul Hijja, during the week-long Hajj pilgrimage.

It is forecasted to occur on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. This day has been declared a national holiday in the UAE and will be followed immediately by Eid Al Adha 2023.

Eid Al Adha is expected to fall between Dhul Hijja 10 and 12, which corresponds to Wednesday, June 28 to Friday, June 30, 2023.

If your employer provides two full days off for these holidays and the expected dates hold true, then taking Monday, June 26 off as well would result in the longest holiday for the fewest number of annual leave days.

Booking just one day of annual leave could result in nine consecutive days out of work. It would mean a holiday from Saturday, June 25 and returning to work on Monday, July 3.
