ENOC, Pertamina Renew Aviation Technical Services Agreement

ENOC Group has renewed its Aviation Technical Services Agreement with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, the commercial and trading subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-owned energy company Pertamina, for another three years to support aviation fuel safety, quality, and operational standards in Indonesia.

The renewal extends a partnership that began in 2009 and follows the technical services agreement established in 2023. The cooperation focuses on technical knowledge exchange, infrastructure capabilities, and the application of internationally recognized operating standards across aviation fuel facilities.

Under the renewed agreement, ENOC will continue conducting annual inspections against Joint Inspection Group (JIG) standards and providing technical guidance and operational support for aviation fuel facilities and aircraft refueling operations.

The agreement also covers specialized training and advisory services in fuel handling, safety, and quality management.

HE Hussain Sultan Lootah, Group CEO of ENOC, said that the partnership supports the development of aviation fuel operations through technical expertise, knowledge transfer, and operational improvements.  Lootah added that ENOC would continue supporting Indonesia’s aviation sector and developing its technical capabilities in international markets.

During the initial three-year agreement, ENOC conducted 18 inspections against JIG standards, including two accompanied inspections to help qualify Pertamina inspectors.

The partnership also enabled six Pertamina employees to participate in ENOC’s annual quality control and operations training courses. ENOC provided ongoing technical advisory support, while three of the five facilities assessed recorded notable progress in compliance with JIG standards.

Under the renewed agreement, both companies will work to strengthen operational standards across Pertamina’s aviation fuel facilities and expand the adoption of international best practices. The cooperation will also focus on developing Pertamina’s internal inspection capabilities and technical expertise.

Yosep Iswadi, Vice President of Aviation Fuel Business at Pertamina Patra Niaga, emphasized that the agreement would support the company’s efforts to maintain jet fuel quality and safety in line with global aviation industry standards.  He added that ENOC’s technical support would contribute to operational performance and Pertamina’s objective of becoming a world-class energy company.

ENOC operates across the aviation fuel value chain and has a presence at more than 300 airports in 28 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

The group supplied approximately 1.17 billion US gallons of jet fuel, supported by its UAE supply chain covering procurement, shipping, refining, storage, distribution, and aircraft fueling services.

ENOC is also developing its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) activities through international collaborations and alternative fuel supply initiatives. In 2024, ENOC Aviation began delivering SAF to airline customers at Bali Airport in Indonesia, extending its alternative fuel operations into the Indonesian market.
