The debut novel Mara by Qatar-based expatriate writer Nishab Guruvayoor was launched in Doha at a literary gathering attended by prominent personalities from Qatar’s social, cultural and business communities.
The launch, held at the Address Gateway Conference Hall, saw Kerala Business Forum (KBF) President Shaheen Muhammed Shafi release the novel by presenting the first copy to Rafi Parakkattil, presenter of the motivational programme Vijayamanthrangal. The function was presided over by Dr Amanulla Vadakkangara, CEO of Media Plus.
Among those who addressed the gathering were Habeeburahman Kizhisseri, executive director of the Friends Cultural Centre; Abdul Rauf Kondotty, Member of the Lok Kerala Sabha; Asha Shamsheer, Managing Partner of Address Gateway; Dr Sheela Philipose, Managing Director of Doha Beauty Centre; Muhammed Noushad Aboo, Managing Director of New Good Will Cargo; Deepak CG, Zubair Pandavath, Jafar Jathieri, Sham Doha and Aman, who congratulated the author and wished him success.
Introducing the novel, Nishab Guruvayoor said Mara explores the hidden realities beneath seemingly peaceful human relationships and the emotional and psychological complexities often concealed behind love and everyday life. He dedicated the novel to his wife Aisha Fami and children Nifan Meh Ban and Fayad Eesa, describing them as his greatest inspiration.
A Qatar resident for nearly 17 years, Nishab is the proprietor of Safar Travel & Tours and also runs the popular Qatar Mallu Vlogs channel with his family. Published by Unicode Self Publishing, Mara marks his debut as a novelist and a significant milestone in his literary journey.
