HSBC Launches Digital Trading Platform for Customers in Qatar

HSBC has announced the launch of WorldTrader in Qatar, a digital wealth trading platform providing customers with convenient access to a broad range of international investment opportunities.

Available through HSBC Online Banking, Worldtrader enables eligible HSBC Premier customers in Qatar to trade across up to 25 markets and 77 exchanges, representing approximately 80 percent of global stock market capitalisation.

Through a single investment account, customers can access equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds and bonds across the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and other international markets.

Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi, Chief Executive Officer, Qatar, HSBC Bank Middle East, said: “Qatar is home to an increasingly dynamic and internationally connected investor community. Following the opening of our new Wealth Center in Qatar, the launch of WorldTrader represents a further investment in our wealth offering and reflects our continued commitment to bringing HSBC’s global capabilities closer to our customers and supporting their evolving wealth ambitions.”

“Together, our enhanced wealth proposition and WorldTrader provide customers with greater access to international investment opportunities, combining dedicated wealth expertise with a secure digital platform and the global connectivity of HSBC. This gives our customers greater choice and flexibility as they diversify and manage their wealth across international markets, said Mostafawi.

Customers can move money from their HSBC Qatar account into their Worldtrader funding account within hours providing faster access to international investment opportunities. The platform also allows customers to trade in major international currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds sterling and Hong Kong dollars, alongside their local currency accounts.

WorldTrader offers access to real-time market data, financial news, analysis and expert insights to support customers in making informed investment decisions. Customers can also view their portfolios, monitor performance and manage their cash balances through a unified wealth dashboard within HSBC Online Banking.

Omar Al Ansari, Head of International Wealth & Premier Banking, Qatar, HSBC, said: “WorldTrader brings together global market access, digital convenience and HSBC’s international wealth expertise in one powerful platform. Whether customers are looking to invest in equities, ETFs, mutual funds or bonds, they can research, fund, trade and manage their investments through a simple and secure digitalexperience.”

“The platform has been designed around the priorities of today’s investors: access to international markets, ease of use, timely market insights and the ability to manage investments in one place. Its launch in Qatar strengthens our ability to support customers as they build more diversified and internationally connected portfolios,” said Al Ansari.

World Trader is powered by Interactive Brokers, a global electronic brokerage firm. Interactive Brokers provides automated trade execution and custody services across international markets through a unified platform.
