IIA Qatar Brings Professionals Together To Discuss Evolving Third-Party Risks

The Institute of Internal Auditors Qatar Chapter successfully concluded its professional seminar on Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), bringing together 120+ professionals from internal audit, risk management, governance, compliance and related functions in Qatar to explore the evolving risks associated with third-party relationships at The Diplomatic Club Doha.

The seminar provided an important platform for professionals to examine how organizations can strengthen their approach to identifying, assessing, monitoring and managing third-party risks in an increasingly interconnected business environment.

The session was led by Mohamad Abdou, Senior Partner, EY, who shared practical insights and perspectives on the changing third-party risk landscape and the challenges organizations face in managing risks arising from suppliers, service providers, strategic partners and other external parties. The seminar covered several key areas, including why Third Party Risk Management matters more than ever, the global TPRM risk landscape, the impact of Artificial Intelligence on third-party risk management, the role of Internal Audit under the IIA Third-Party Topical Requirement, and common practices and lessons from global organizations.

The seminar also emphasized the evolving expectations of Internal Audit in providing meaningful and forward-looking assurance over third-party risk management. Participants discussed practical considerations for assessing the effectiveness of third-party risk frameworks and identifying opportunities to strengthen governance and controls.

The seminar brought together a diverse group of professionals, creating an interactive environment for knowledge sharing, discussion and practical learning. The IIA Qatar Chapter extends its appreciation to all the professionals who joined the seminar and actively contributed to the discussion.
