The Embassy of India in Qatar, in collaboration with the Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) Qatar, successfully organised a high-level business interaction with Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, in Doha on Friday.
The event brought together prominent members of the Indian business community, industry leaders, and professionals for a meaningful dialogue on India’s evolving energy landscape and the growing scope of bilateral cooperation between India and Qatar.
The programme commenced with a networking session, allowing attendees to engage informally and exchange perspectives ahead of the main interaction. This was followed by the formal session, which served as a dynamic platform for direct engagement with the minister.
The session was opened and moderated by IBPC Qatar President Thaha Muhammed Abdul Kareem. In his welcome address, he extended a warm reception to the minister and distinguished guests, underscoring the deepening ties between India and Qatar.
He highlighted the role of IBPC in fostering business relationships and facilitating dialogue between stakeholders from both nations.
In his address, Puri expressed his appreciation for Qatar’s continued support to the Indian diaspora. He emphasised that his visit was also aimed at conveying India’s solidarity with Qatar in the current global context.
The minister commended the significant contributions made by Indian businessmen and professionals to Qatar’s economic growth and development.
Sharing insights into India’s energy sector, the minister outlined the country’s strategic vision, policy reforms, and its commitment to ensuring energy security while advancing sustainability goals. He also elaborated on India’s robust economic growth trajectory and highlighted the government’s proactive efforts to strengthen global trade linkages.
The minister emphasised the importance of building long-term, sustainable partnerships with key partners like Qatar, particularly in the areas of energy, investment, and technology.
The interactive session that followed witnessed active participation from the audience. Delegates engaged directly with the minister, raising questions and sharing perspectives on trade facilitation, emerging opportunities, and future prospects for collaboration between Indian and Qatari enterprises.
