Moody’s Affirms Doha Bank’s Credit Rating With ‘Stable’ Outlook

Global credit rating agency Moody’s has affirmed Doha Bank’s long-term counterparty risk rating at “A3” and deposit rating at “Baa1” with a "stable" outlook.

The ratings reflect the Moody's expectations that the bank’s capital and liquidity will remain broadly stable as it progressively provisions and addresses legacy issues, while retaining a substantial share of net profits.

The stable outlook also considers the bank’s ongoing efforts to shift its exposures to lower-risk segments and to improve financial performance, in line with its strategy.

The affirmation is attributed to several key strengths, including the very high likelihood of support from the Qatar government, healthy liquidity buffers and sound capital metrics well above regulatory requirements.

“Moody’s affirmation is a testament to the transformative journey we have embarked upon through the Himma strategy.

It reflects not only the discipline in our risk management and the strengthening of our execution, but also our broader ambition to redefine what a modern, resilient, and purpose-driven bank can achieve.

We remain steadfast in creating long-term, sustainable value for our customers, shareholders, and the communities we serve,” said Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal al-Thani, Group chief executive officer.
