Qatar Airways, WestJet Sign Codeshare Deal To Expand Connectivity

Qatar Airways has entered into a codeshare partnership with Canadian airline WestJet to expand travel options across Canada and improve connectivity between Canadian cities and international destinations.

Under the agreement, Qatar Airways will place its QR code on selected WestJet flights, allowing passengers to connect through Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to destinations across Canada.

The cities covered by the partnership include Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John’s, and Winnipeg. The agreement will provide Qatar Airways passengers with additional travel options within Canada through WestJet’s domestic network.

WestJet passengers will also gain access to Qatar Airways’ international network of more than 170 business and leisure destinations. These include New Delhi, Nairobi, Singapore, and Jeddah, providing additional travel options for passengers departing from Canada.

The partnership adds to Qatar Airways’ existing portfolio of airline collaborations and is intended to improve connections between its international network and destinations across Canada.

The codeshare agreement comes as Qatar Airways increases its flight services to Canada. Qatar Airways has increased its weekly flights to Canada from 12 to 14, with daily services to Toronto and Montreal.

The additional frequencies will expand the airline’s capacity on its Canadian routes and provide passengers with more flight options between Canada and Qatar’s international network.

The agreement also enables both airlines to extend their market reach by combining Qatar Airways’ international connections with WestJet’s services across Canada.

Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, WestJet operates more than 600 daily flights and serves over 275 destinations through its operations and airline partnerships.

The WestJet Group includes WestJet Airlines, WestJet Vacations, Vacances WestJet Quebec, and Sunwing Vacations. The group operates across North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as holiday destinations.
