Qatar Chamber Official Elected Chairman of FIATA’s Africa & Middle East Region

Qatar Chamber board member Ali bin Abdul Latif al-Misnad has been elected chairman of the Africa and Middle East Region at the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) during the FIATA World Congress held recently in Vietnam under the theme ‘Green and Resilient Logistics’.

The event is considered the largest annual gathering in the global logistics sector, bringing together government leaders, international organisations, industry associations, experts, and companies specialising in logistics, transportation, import and export, and technology.

Al-Misnad, whose tenure runs from October 2025 until October 2027, was elected to this position after previously serving as the vice president of FIATA’s Africa and Middle East Region since April 2024. 

During his tenure, he actively participated in numerous international meetings. He worked diligently to convey the voice and needs of the Africa and Middle East region to decision-makers within FIATA.

Al-Misnad led the chamber’s delegation, which included representatives from several shipping companies that are members of the Qatar Association for Freight Forwarding and Logistics (QAFL), such as Qatar Airways and Servex.

Al-Misnad, who is also the QAFL chairman, stated that the chamber participated in the event, which discussed the challenges and opportunities in the global freight sector, explored innovative solutions, and promoted international co-operation.
