Qatar Chamber is strengthening co-operation ties between the Qatari and Russian business communities, according to board member Ali bin Abdullatif al-Misnad, who represented the chamber in the recently concluded St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Al-Misnad, who is also chairman of the Qatari side of the Qatari-Russian Joint Business Council, held several meetings with Russian business leaders and economic officials to discuss trade and economic co-operation between the two friendly countries and explore ways to strengthen these ties.
The discussions also highlighted the pivotal role played by the Qatari-Russian Joint Business Council in fostering business relations, enhancing communication between Qatari and Russian entrepreneurs, and promoting mutual partnerships and investment opportunities in both countries.
Al-Misnad reaffirmed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to enhancing trade relations and increasing bilateral trade. He emphasised the Qatari private sector’s interest in expanding co-operation with its Russian counterpart, aiming to elevate collaboration to new levels and position Qatar as a key hub for Russian trade in the region.
He further noted the chamber’s support for fostering partnerships between Qatari and Russian companies, as well as creating a conducive environment for building mutually beneficial business and investment alliances.
Al-Misnad highlighted the strong interest of Qatari businessmen in investing in Russia, describing it as a prime destination for foreign investment. He also called on Russian investors to explore Qatar’s attractive investment climate and the numerous opportunities available in the country.
The St Petersburg International Economic Forum, which concluded yesterday, attracted over 20,000 participants from 140 countries.
The forum’s agenda focused on four main themes: the global economy as a new platform for growth, a new quality of growth for the Russian economy, human development in the new world, and sustainable living environments.
