Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba, Second Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, held two separate meetings with Ambassador of Portugal to Qatar HE Ana Filomena da Costa Rocha, and Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Qatar HE Aibek Tektobolotov, to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade relations and promote investment and private-sector partnerships.
During his meeting with the Portuguese Ambassador, Al Athba highlighted the strong relations between the two countries and the interest of Qatari investors in exploring opportunities in Portugal.
He affirmed Qatar’s welcome of Portuguese investments, stressing the Chamber’s support for greater cooperation between Qatari and Portuguese companies.
For her part, the Portuguese Ambassador highlighted the significant potential for bilateral cooperation and proposed establishing a joint business council, as well as organising a webinar for business representatives to explore opportunities in renewable energy, food security and other sectors.
During his meeting with the Kyrgyz Ambassador, H.E. Al Athba expressed the Chamber’s interest in signing an MoU with its Kyrgyz counterpart and exchanging business delegations to explore investment opportunities and develop joint partnerships.
The Kyrgyz Ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen economic cooperation with Qatar, highlighting promising opportunities in mining, agriculture, tourism, energy and food security, as well as opportunities offered by Kyrgyzstan’s free zones. He also expressed interest in signing an MoU with Qatar Chamber to establish a joint business council.
