The Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, will convene a special leadership gathering alongside the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on September 20, 2026, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, investors and business executives to discuss the evolving geopolitical and economic landscape.
Held in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the event, titled QEF: UNGA Special Edition 2026, will be held under the theme “Growth on New Terms: Capital, Risk and Resilience.”
Discussions will focus on how governments, businesses and investors are adapting to an increasingly fragmented global environment marked by shifting geopolitical dynamics, economic uncertainty and changing investment patterns.
Taking place during one of the world’s most influential diplomatic and political gatherings, the forum aims to provide a platform for high-level dialogue on the issues shaping global markets, capital flows and the international business landscape.
Building on the Qatar Economic Forum’s track record of convening influential figures from government, finance and industry, the event will feature keynote conversations, exclusive interviews and panel discussions with some of the world’s leading decision-makers.
The editorial agenda will explore a range of major global themes, including geopolitical shifts in the Middle East and their implications for the global economy, the outlook for energy supply and demand, the restructuring of global trade flows, changing investment opportunities amid the global rebalancing of capital, and the opportunities and challenges arising from artificial intelligence, from its digital potential to its physical infrastructure requirements.
Organisers said the list of speakers and the detailed programme will be announced in the coming months.
The next full edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, is scheduled to be held in Doha in April 2027.
