Qatar Has Built Integrated System for Staging Major Events, CEO of LOC for Football Events Says

Doha, October 28 (QNA) - Cooperation and coordination among government entities and institutions have enabled Qatar to develop an integrated system for staging major events, strengthen the exchange of experience and expertise, and accelerate planning and preparations, Jassim Abdulaziz Al Jassim, Acting Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and Chief Executive Officer of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for Football Events, said Wednesday.

Speaking during the second session of the third Leadership Innovation Forum 2026, titled "Sustainable Infrastructure: How Qatar’s Infrastructure Has Evolved Into a National System," Al Jassim said ongoing communication with relevant entities and discussions of challenges and problems had helped improve operations and build on accumulated experience.

He said the system extended beyond a single organizing body to encompass security agencies, regulatory bodies and other entities working together within an integrated, nationwide framework.

Continued cooperation with partners in organizing events hosted by Qatar had also improved and accelerated planning processes, he said. Tasks that once took months, and sometimes years, could now be completed within weeks, thanks to accumulated experience and a better understanding of operational requirements.

Al Jassim said Qatar had made significant progress in preparing Qatari personnel to take part in organizing major events abroad, including in security, civilian and organizational roles.

He said this expertise had been demonstrated during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and through the participation of Qatari personnel in major events held in the United States and Canada, particularly in security and organizational operations. (QNA)
