For his part, Mohamed bin Twar said that Qatar Chamber is keen to foster communication between the Qatari and Sri Lankan business communities. He noted that Port City Colombo offers a diverse range of investment opportunities and could serve as an important gateway for Qatari investora seeking to expand into the Sri Lankan market.

He added that the Chamber urges Qatari investors to explore the opportunities available in the City and consider establishing joint ventures with Sri Lankan counterparts across sectors of mutual interest.

It is worth noting Port City Colombo is a major urban development project and multi-use Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located in Sri Lanka’s capital.

Built on approximately 269 hectares of reclaimed land, the project aims to attract foreign direct investment and position Sri Lanka as a regional business and services hub.

The zone offers investment opportunities across financial services, information technology, professional services, shipping and logistics, tourism and hospitality, and regional headquarters.
