Qatar Joins GCC Meetings on Trade, Industry and Investment

Qatar participated in the 64th preparatory meeting of the GCC Committee of Undersecretaries of Commerce, the 49th preparatory meeting of the GCC Committee of Undersecretaries of Industry, the sixth meeting of the GCC Investment Undersecretaries Committee, and the second meeting of the Executive Office of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC). The meetings were held via video conference on 21 and 22 September 2026.

Qatar was represented by Saleh bin Majed Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry Affairs and Business Development at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The meetings were attended by undersecretaries from GCC commerce and industry ministries and representatives of the relevant investment authorities, along with the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat and the Chief Executive Officer of GOIC.

Participants discussed the items on the meetings’ agendas and adopted the relevant decisions and recommendations.

Qatar also participated in the third meeting of the GCC Permanent Committee for Patent Affairs. It was represented by Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mana, Assistant Undersecretary for Commerce Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Members of the committee and the Director-General of the Patent Office at the GCC General Secretariat attended the meeting.

Participants discussed the items on the committee’s agenda and adopted the relevant decisions and recommendations.
