Qatar Ranks First Regional in Aviation, Maritime Dwell Times

Doha, September 28 (QNA) - Qatar ranked first in the region for the speed of processing air and sea freight imports, according to the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index (LPI 2.0) for 2025.

Additionally, Qatar ranked among the top three countries in the region for direct air and postal connectivity. This achievement reflects the State's commitment to solidifying its position as a global trade and logistics hub, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and attracting international investment.

The World Bank's Logistics Performance Index measures supply chain and trade efficiency. Its updated methodology relies on actual operational data, rather than traditional surveys, across 21 indicators covering two key dimensions: international connectivity and speed/time efficiency.

In a post on X platform today, the National Planning Council noted that this exceptional performance underscores Qatar's commitment to establishing itself as a global trade and logistics hub. This is achieved by boosting supply chain efficiency through reduced cargo dwell times and operational costs, alongside faster goods flow.

The Council added that this progress encompasses expanded access to global markets via an air and postal connectivity network that opens new horizons for international trade. Furthermore, it fosters investment by leveraging advanced infrastructure that creates a conducive environment for global capital and businesses. (QNA)
