Qatar Showcases Investment Potential at Arab-German Business Forum

Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs HE Dr Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed participated in the 29th Arab-German Business Forum, where Qatar was featured as this year’s partner country, reaffirming the country’s commitment to strengthening economic, trade and investment cooperation with Germany and the wider Arab region.

The three-day forum, held in Berlin from June 17 to 19, was organised by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa) in cooperation with Qatar Chamber. It brought together senior government officials, business leaders and investors from Arab countries and Germany under the theme “Beyond Transformation: Intelligence, Innovation, and Impact.”

Addressing the opening session, Al Sayed highlighted the importance of advancing economic, trade and investment relations between Arab countries and Germany. He said the forum serves as an effective platform for expanding public-private partnerships and exploring new opportunities in trade, investment and innovation, contributing to sustainable economic growth and development.

On the sidelines of the forum, the minister held a series of high-level meetings with German officials and business leaders to further strengthen bilateral economic ties.

He met with Katherina Reiche, Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, to review the progress of economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries and discuss ways to deepen cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.

The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in advanced industries, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, healthcare, logistics and renewable energy, while also exploring opportunities to strengthen partnerships between the private sectors of Qatar and Germany to boost trade and investment flows.

Both sides stressed the importance of building on the strong economic relations between the two countries and maintaining close coordination to support sustainable economic development amid the continued growth in bilateral trade.

Al Sayed also met with Dr. Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor of Germany, where they discussed enhancing trade and investment cooperation as well as a range of issues of mutual interest.

In addition, the minister met with presidents of Arab chambers of commerce and heads of Arab delegations participating in the forum. Their discussions focused on strengthening trade and investment relations among Arab countries and promoting greater regional economic integration and market connectivity.

The minister also held meetings with prominent Qatari business leaders and German chief executive officers to discuss expanding business partnerships and identifying new investment opportunities between companies in both countries.

The forum coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa) and witnessed broad participation from government representatives, investors and business executives from across the Arab world and Germany.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, chairman of Qatar Chamber and First Vice President of Ghorfa, also actively participated in the forum, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen Qatar-Germany economic relations and create broader opportunities for cooperation and investment between the business communities of both countries.
