Qatar Takes Part in Arab Financial Institutions’ Annual Meetings

Qatar participated in the joint annual meetings of the Arab Financial Institutions 2026, which were held today via videoconference.

The Qatari delegation was headed by Dr Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, during the joint opening session of the meetings, the meeting of the board of governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the meeting of the Board of Governors of the Arab Monetary Fund. The session was attended by Their Excellencies Ministers of Finance and Economy from Arab countries.

A number of key regional and international economic developments were reviewed, with particular emphasis on the significant challenges facing Arab economies at both the domestic and globallevels.

Discussions also addressed ways to strengthen cooperation among Arab countries to confront these challenges and to develop effective mechanisms for achieving economic stability and growth in the region.

The importance of the Joint Annual Meetings stems from the role played by the Arab joint financial institutions in enabling Arab economies to address the economic, social and financial repercussions affecting both the global landscape and the Arab region.

Participants also underscored the need to accelerate structural reforms, enhance fiscal sustainability, and promote investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, digital transformation, and human capital development.

They highlighted the importance of fostering greater regional integration and leveraging innovation to drive inclusive growth, while reaffirming their commitment to coordinated efforts that support resilience and long-term prosperity across Arabeconomies.
