Qatar, Tanzania Agree To Curb Tax Evasion

Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Finance, and Tanzania, represented by the Ministry of Finance, have signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax Evasion and Avoidance. Agreement was signed by Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari on behalf of the Qatari side, and Khamis Mussa Omar, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Tanzanian side. 

The Agreement aims to establish a comprehensive legal framework governing tax and financial relations between the State of Qatar and the United Republic of Tanzania, avoiding double taxation and curbing tax evasion, thereby contributing to a fair and stable tax environment, enhancing transparency and the exchange of information between the competent authorities, supporting the movement of capital, trade and investment, and broadening the prospects for economic and financial cooperation in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries.
