Minister of State for Foreign Trade HE Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed held separate meetings in Ankara with Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkiye Prof Dr Ömer Bolat, and Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkiye Mehmet Simsek.
The meetings were attended by HE Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab, Ambassador Qatar to Turkiye; Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, chairman of the General Authority of Customs; Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice; Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Maadheed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport; and Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad, board member of Qatar Chamber, alongside several senior officials and representatives of the public and private sectors from both countries.
The discussions focused on ways to strengthen economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries and increase bilateral trade, particularly following the entry into force last year of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement between Qatar and Turkiye.
The discussions also addressed expanding areas of trade and investment cooperation, strengthening the resilience of supply chains and trade corridors, fostering partnerships between the two countries’ business communities, and supporting the private sector in capitalising on available opportunities in both markets.
These efforts aim to broaden the prospects of the economic partnership and reflect the strength of the fraternal relations between the two countries and their leaderships.
