Qatar’s Business Community To Gather for Third ESG Conference

Qatar Chamber on Monday announced the upcoming third Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Qatar Conference, scheduled for October 6–7 at The Ritz-Carlton Doha.

The two-day conference aims to promote corporate sustainability, social responsibility and sound governance frameworks, highlighting their role in building a resilient and sustainable economy.

Organised by Hawkama International, the conference has Qatar Chamber as its Business Community Partner. It is supported by Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE), QNB Group, Dukhan Bank, Doha Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIIB) and Aamal Company.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Ali Bu Sherbak Al-Mansori, Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber, and Dr. Buthaina Hassan Al Ansari, Chairperson of Hawkama International and Conference Chair.

Representatives of the conference’s sponsoring organisations also addressed the press conference. Al-Mansori said ESG issues have become critical pillars of corporate competitiveness, investment readiness, risk management and long-term sustainability.

“As global standards evolve, a company’s ability to integrate ESG principles into their strategies and operations has become an important factor in their capacity to grow, attract investment, build trust, and remain competitive in rapidly changing markets,” he said.He said Qatar Chamber views the conference as an important platform for deepening dialogue among business leaders, policy experts and key stakeholders.

It also provides an opportunity to raise private-sector awareness of modern governance and corporate responsibility, contributing to Qatar’s overall business environment.

Al Ansari said the third edition of the conference will bring together international and local experts to discuss developments in governance, environmental and social sustainability, corporate disclosure, and sustainable finance and investment.

She also announced that the conference will launch a dedicated digital platform designed to help institutions streamline ESG reporting, structure disclosure requirements and improve overall reporting quality.

Representatives of sponsoring entities highlighted the conference’s focus on issues related to the future of business, including sustainability, the green transition, corporate social responsibility, governance, transparency and risk management, sustainable finance and responsible investment. They also highlighted the role of innovation and technology in supporting ESG objectives.

The conference is being organised in cooperation with the British Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals, based in Manchester, UK.

It will feature international speakers from the UK, Australia and the UAE, alongside speakers from Qatar Stock Exchange, Qatari banks and listed companies.

The second day will feature several specialised workshops designed to equip participants with the skills required to prepare and draft ESG reports.
