Qatar’s international reserves and foreign currency liquidity continued to strengthen in July 2026, reaching QR262.2 billion, according to the latest data released by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).
The figure represents a 1.1 percent increase compared with July 2025, underscoring the continued strength of Qatar’s external financial position and its substantial foreign currency buffers.
More notably, QCB’s total official reserves registered a strong annual increase, rising 10.3% year-on-year to QR220.5 billion in July 2026.
The continued growth in official reserves provides further evidence of the resilience of Qatar’s financial position and its capacity to maintain substantial liquidity to support the economy and the stability of the national currency.
The broader measure of international reserves and foreign currency liquidity, which stood at QR262.2 billion, includes official reserves along with other foreign currency liquid assets. The gap between the two measures stood at approximately QR41.7 billionin July.
The 1.1 percent annual growth in international reserves and foreign currency liquidity comes alongside the much stronger 10.3 percent increase in official reserves, indicating a significant strengthening in the core reserve position over the past year.
