QC Seeks To Strengthen Trade Ties With Kazakhstan

Qatar and Kazakhstan have discussed ways to further strengthen economic and trade relations and expand investment cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

Qatar Chamber (QC) Acting General Manager Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori received on Wednesday HE Bakhyt Batyrshayev, ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Qatar, at the chamber’s headquarters. The meeting was also attended by Olzhas Sadykov, Counsellor at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Qatar.

The discussions focused on the existing economic and trade relations between Qatar and Kazakhstan, prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, and the investment climate and opportunities available to companies and investors from both countries.

Al Mansori affirmed that Qatar-Kazakhstan relations are strong and distinguished, noting that the two countries have signed a number of agreements covering various fields. He stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the Qatari and Kazakh private sectors, particularly through increased communication, business-to-business engagement and the exchange of trade and investment delegations.

He said Qatar provides an attractive and supportive investment environment, offering significant opportunities for partnerships between Qatari and Kazakh companies across a wide range of sectors.

Al Mansori welcomed Kazakh business delegations to Qatar, encouraging them to visit the country and hold meetings with Qatari businesspeople to identify areas of mutual interest and explore potential investment, trade and partnership opportunities.

For his part, Ambassador Batyrshayev praised the strong and growing relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar.

The ambassador provided an overview of the key features of the Kazakh economy and highlighted major investment opportunities available in the country, particularly in infrastructure, transport, services, tourism and mining, as well as other promising sectors.

He also highlighted the presence and contribution of Qatari companies and investments in Kazakhstan, particularly in the construction, banking and energy sectors, reflecting the growing economic engagement between the two countries.

Batyrshayev invited Qatar Chamber and Qatari investors to visit Kazakhstan and explore investment opportunities firsthand, saying greater direct engagement between the business communities could help identify new areas for cooperation and encourage the expansion of bilateral trade and investment.

The two sides also emphasised the importance of activating the Qatar-Kazakhstan Joint Business Council as an important platform for strengthening private-sector cooperation and facilitating business contacts between companies from both countries.

They stressed the need to organise reciprocal business visits and encourage greater participation by Qatari and Kazakh companies in trade fairs, exhibitions and economic events held in both countries.

The meeting underscored the shared interest in expanding private-sector partnerships and creating new channels for trade and investment cooperation, with both sides expressing readiness to support initiatives that bring the business communities of Qatar and Kazakhstan closer together.
