The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber held two specialised seminars, in co-operation with leading law firms, on the sidelines of the ‘Egyptian Arbitration Days 2025’ (EAD) conference held recently in Cairo, Egypt.
The centre’s delegation was headed by QICCA’s vice-chairman, Sheikh Dr Thani bin Ali al-Thani, including Ibrahim Shahbek, secretary-general, and Khaled al-Garhe, QICCA legal counsellor.
The first seminar, titled ‘Third Party Financing: Risks, Gains, and the Future of Arbitration’, was organised by QICCA, in co-operation with Omar & Partners Law Firm. The second seminar, ‘Arbitration in the Gulf Region’, was held in collaboration with Al-Qushayri, Rashid, and Riyadh Offices.
In addition, QICCA participated in a third session titled ‘Arbitration and Investment’, which addressed the most prominent aspects related to the relationship between arbitration and investment, and discussed ways to enhance the role of arbitration in attracting and protecting foreign investments.
Sheikh Dr Thani said QICCA’s participation marks an important step reflecting its keenness to maintain an active presence in international legal forums and to foster dialogue on arbitration issues of regional and global relevance.
He noted that QICCA’s participation also reaffirms its commitment to advancing legal and arbitration practices and to deepening co-operation with regional and international partners, thereby contributing to consolidating the region’s position on the global arbitration map.
Shahbek said QICCA will hold more external seminars and events during the coming period, pointing out that the two seminars witnessed great attendance and interaction.
