QICCA Showcases Qatar’s Arbitration Excellence at LIDW 2026 in London

The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) participated in London International Disputes Week (LIDW) 2026, held recently in London, United Kingdom, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening its international presence and advancing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practices.

The event provided QICCA with an important platform to engage with leading arbitration institutions, legal experts, and practitioners from around the world, while highlighting Qatar’s growing role as a regional and global hub for commercial dispute resolution.

Commenting on the participation, Sheikh Dr Thani bin Ali Al Thani, vice chairman of QICCA, said the event offered valuable opportunities for professional dialogue on the future of arbitration and dispute resolution, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

He underscored Qatar’s advanced legal framework governing dispute resolution, particularly Arbitration Law No. (2) of 2017 and Mediation Law No. (20) of 2021. He also highlighted the supportive role of the Qatari judiciary in enforcing arbitral awards, which has enhanced confidence in Qatar as a trusted destination for resolving commercial disputes.

During the event, QICCA showcased its publications and institutional materials at the historic Middle Temple Hall, one of London’s most renowned legal venues. The Centre’s participation also facilitated the exchange of expertise and best practices with prominent international arbitration bodies and legal professionals.

Represented by its Legal Advisor, QICCA took part in a panel discussion focusing on the role of arbitration institutions in improving procedural efficiency, safeguarding fairness and integrity in arbitral proceedings, and leveraging advanced technologies in case management.

The discussion also highlighted QICCA’s contribution as a leading dispute resolution institution in Qatar and the wider Middle East region.

London International Disputes Week is widely regarded as one of the world’s premier forums for dispute resolution, bringing together leading legal practitioners, arbitrators, academics, and institutions to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and innovations shaping the future of the field.
