QIIB issued the first Islamic Sukuk listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange

What do you actually earn from a Sukuk when you hold it to maturity?

This chart breaks down how a 4.4% QIIB Sukuk pays out over a three-year period. It highlights the timing and structure of returns rather than just the headline yield.

At Year 0, investors make the initial investment. In Year 1 and Year 2, the Sukuk distributes annual returns of 4.4%. In the final year, investors receive the last 4.4% return together with the full repayment of principal, resulting in total cash received of 113.2% over the life of the Sukuk.

This structure reflects the nature of the QIIB Sukuk listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange, with a total issuance size of QAR 500 million and a three-year maturity.

Its listing is a notable milestone as the first Islamic Sukuk to be listed on QSE, expanding the range of Shariah-compliant instruments available in the local market.

For investors in Qatar, this listing adds a transparent, locally accessible fixed-income option with clearly defined cash flows and maturity.

It also contributes to greater depth in the domestic debt market and supports diversification beyond equities. As Qatar’s capital market continues to evolve, instruments like this help investors better match income needs, investment horizons, and portfolio structure without relying solely on offshore listings.
