Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has received two prestigious accolades at the Global Business and Finance Magazine Awards 2026, recognising the bank’s achievements in Islamic financial innovation and corporate banking services.
QIIB won the Innovation in Shariah-Compliant Financial Products and Outstanding Corporate Islamic Banking Services awards, further strengthening its record of international recognition.
The awards recognise QIIB’s efforts to develop innovative Shariah-compliant financing solutions and advanced banking services that address the evolving needs of businesses and institutions while keeping pace with technological and regulatory developments in global financial markets.
The judging panel at Global Business and Finance Magazine said QIIB earned the recognition for its strong performance and ability to respond effectively to rapid technological advances and changing market requirements. It also highlighted the bank’s pioneering initiatives in combining Shariah-compliant Islamic financing with advanced digital technologies.
Commenting on the achievement, QIIB Chief of Corporate Banking Omar Abdulaziz Al Meer said the two awards reflected international recognition of the bank’s sustained efforts and long-term investments across its operations.
He said the recognition also demonstrated QIIB’s success in translating its strategic vision into tangible results for corporate and institutional clients.
Al-Meer said the Innovation in Shariah-Compliant Financial Products award reflected QIIB’s integrated approach to combining technological innovation with financial excellence, while continuously developing its treasury, investment and financing products.
He noted that the bank aims to develop innovative and flexible financing instruments that combine Shariah principles with operational flexibility and effective risk management.
This approach, he said, has enabled QIIB to introduce several services, products and financing structures that were firsts in Qatar, helping broaden the investor base, enhance market liquidity and support sustainable economic growth.
On the Outstanding Corporate Islamic Banking Services award, Al-Meer said corporate banking remains a key focus of QIIB’s strategy.
He said the bank has built a smart, secure and integrated banking platform that enables companies to manage their financial transactions efficiently, while offering institutional clients a comprehensive range of digital and traditional banking services.
According to Al Meer, QIIB continues to invest in advanced technology infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital governance to provide a seamless banking experience and strengthen long-term partnerships with the business sector.
He added that the achievement forms part of QIIB’s broader efforts to support digital financial transformation and play an active role in financing strategic and infrastructure projects.
These initiatives are aligned with the Third Financial Sector Strategy launched by Qatar Central Bank and the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Al Meer also attributed QIIB’s strong performance to the resilience and competitive advantages of the Qatari economy, which continues to demonstrate robust growth.
He said customer satisfaction remains the bank’s key measure of success, adding that the latest awards would encourage QIIB to continue investing in technology and innovation to develop solutions that create value for the banking sector.
The latest honours add to QIIB’s growing record of international recognition across digital banking, mobile banking applications, retail banking, capital market development and local-currency Sukuk issuances.
