Sheikh Thani Bin Ali Appointed As CRCICA Board of Trustees Member

The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber announced the appointment of Sheikh Dr Thani bin Ali Al Thani, Vice-Chairman of QICCA’s Board of Directors, as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), chaired by HE Ambassador Nabil Fahmy.

CRCICA is an independent, non-profit international organization established under the auspices of the Asian - African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), pursuant to a resolution issued by the organization during its meeting held in Qatar in 1978.

This appointment reflects the prestigious standing of Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al Thani, as it is the first of its kind for a Qatari figure to join this Board. It also comes in recognition of his prominent role in supporting and developing arbitration and dispute resolution systems at both regional and international levels.

The Board of Trustees comprises a distinguished group of leading Asian and African figures specialized in international arbitration, law, business, trade, investment, and international relations. Its members are appointed in consultation with AALCO.

It is worth noting that Sheikh Dr Thani bin Ali Al Thani previously served as Vice-President of the Qatari Lawyers Association and as a board member of the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre.

He also represented the State of Qatar at the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a member of the Lawyers Admission Committee at the Ministry of Justice.
