Sohar Islamic Unveils ‘Be Zahiya’ Banking Proposition for Women

Sohar Islamic, the Islamic banking window of Sohar International, has introduced Be Zahiya, a women-focused banking proposition offering Shariah-compliant financial products, payment solutions, and lifestyle benefits in Oman.

The proposition includes debit and credit card options under the Be Zahiya and Zahiya Plus categories, with benefits designed around customers’ banking needs, spending preferences, and lifestyle requirements.

Fahad Al Zadjali, Chief Islamic Banking Officer at Sohar Islamic, said that Be Zahiya provides women with financial services that support informed decision-making and financial independence.  He added that the proposition combines Shariah-compliant banking solutions with customer benefits and services tailored to women’s requirements.

Be Zahiya’s credit card options

The proposition includes two credit cards: Be Zahiya Visa Platinum and Be Zahiya Plus Visa Signature.

The Be Zahiya Visa Platinum card offers welcome reward points, rewards on eligible local and international spending, access to selected airport lounges, global emergency assistance, and flexible installment plans. It also includes Visa 3D Secure for online transaction security.

The Be Zahiya Plus Visa Signature card offers additional benefits, including unlimited access to a network of more than 1,000 airport lounges, welcome reward points, complimentary self-parking at Mall of Oman, and a concierge service.

The concierge service provides assistance with travel arrangements, dining reservations, and other lifestyle requirements.  Both credit cards provide lifetime-free annual membership, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Focus on women’s banking services

Through Be Zahiya, Sohar Islamic enables banking products that combine everyday payment services with rewards and lifestyle benefits within a Shariah-compliant framework.

The proposition serves women at different stages of their financial lives by offering payment options and benefits aligned with their banking and personal preferences.

The introduction of Be Zahiya forms part of the bank’s efforts to develop customer-focused Islamic banking services and expand its range of financial products for women in Oman.  The initiative also aligns with the broader objectives of supporting financial participation and contributing to Oman’s economic and social development under Oman Vision 2040.
