Stock Futures Are Mixed After Wall Street Starts the Week on a Winning Note: Live Updates

Stock futures edged lower early Tuesday following a winning session on Wall Street, with traders looking ahead to a slew of corporate earnings and the start of a Federal Reserve two-day policy meeting.

S&P 500 futures were down 0.1%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 2 points, trading just above the flatline. Nasdaq-100 futuresare down 0.19%.

Shares in Nvidia fell 0.28% in premarket trading after it unveiled plans to invest $3 billion in Meta.

Wall Street kicked off the week on a solid note. The Dow climbed 146.42 points, or 0.3%. The S&P 500 gained 0.7%, while the Nasdaq Compositeadvanced 0.8% as tech shares outperformed. The artificial intelligence trade got a boost after Anthropic filed to go public at the Nasdaq. This would mark another major tech IPO for 2026, following SpaceX's blockbuster listing in June.

Tesla shares advanced more than 5%. Microsoft and Amazon also rose on the day.

Those gains come as the artificial intelligence trade has faced pressure from investors worried companies in the space are borrowing too much cash to fund their AI build-outs.

On Tuesday, traders will pore through a deluge of third-quarter earnings reports. Coca-Cola, Robinhood and Boeing are among the companies set to post results. Tech giants Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon are due out later in the week.

The Fed is also set to kick off its latest monetary policy meeting. While the central bank is expected to keep rates unchanged, traders will look for clues on whether another rate hike will take place before year-end.

"If, as expected, there is no change in rates, it will still be interesting to see what the vote is after the swings in the last two meetings," wrote Thomas Block, Washington policy strategist at Fundstrat. "While the Fed views itself above partisan politics, it would be unlikely that the Fed would move rates a week before a national election."

On the economic front, traders will be watching for durable orders, consumer confidence data and the new home sales report.

Across the Atlantic, the pan-European Stoxx 600 was down 0.35% on Tuesday morning. The U.K. FTSE 100 fell 0.99%, leading losses, while the French CAC 40 shed 0.27% and Germany's DAX dropped 0.10%.

In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 closed 1.73% higher, while the Topix rose 0.61%. South Korea's Kospi gained 3.09%, while the small-cap Kosdaq rose 2.29%. Australia's benchmark S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.46%. Mainland China's CSI 300 closed 1.32% lower.
