Supreme Judicial Council, GTA Sign Deal in Digital Push

The Supreme Judicial Council and the General Tax Authority signed a memorandum on Tuesday to strengthen cooperation and improve electronic links between the two entities.

The signing was attended by Supreme Judicial Council President and Court of Cassation President Dr Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Muhannadi and General Tax Authority President Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Al Kuwari.

The Supreme Judicial Council was represented by Court of Appeal President Judge Dr Mohammed Imran Ali Al Kuwari, while the General Tax Authority was represented by Ismail Mohammed Al Sayed Al Mansouri, Assistant President for Support Services.

The memorandum aims to improve procedures, speed up transactions and support the work of joint judicial committees, including the Tax Grievance Committee. It will also facilitate information sharing, support digital transformation and improve coordination between the two entities. The agreement will allow the two sides to use electronic systems to improve workflows and efficiency while ensuring that data remains accurate, secure and confidential. It also provides for expanding cooperation in the future to cover additional services and data, as agreed by both sides.

The memorandum reflects the General Tax Authority’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with national institutions, digitise services and improve procedures. The authority said these efforts will help make services more efficient and improve the experience of taxpayers.
