The Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA Group), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi University (ADU) to accelerate technical, societal, and environmental solutions in the energy sector through research and development (R&D).
The cooperation aims to strengthen ties between both entities through training programs and knowledge exchange. The agreement was signed at ADU’s main campus by Mr. Saeed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director, ADDC, and Professor Waqar Ahmad, Chancellor, ADU.
Mr. Al Suwaidi commented that “There are many mutual benefits to collaborating with academia, which is why we are so thrilled to enter into this partnership with ADU. By supporting research and development and special opportunities for young talent, we are moving our industry forward and helping build a brighter future here at home.”
ADDC plans to operate, maintain, and own network distribution assets and directly interfaces with water and electricity customers in Abu Dhabi’s central and Al Dhafra regions, leveraging technical expertise and best-practice customer-care solutions.
The company ensures water and electricity flow to more than 600,000 service points through a smart, robust, efficient, and sustainable distribution network.
