These are Qatari Stocks with Then Highest Share Turnover Velocity

A stock can be small in size, but huge in trading activity.

One way to measure this is Share Turnover Velocity—a simple metric calculated by dividing a company's Value Traded (LTM) by its Market Capitalization. In other words, it shows how much trading has taken place over the past year relative to the company's total market value.

A higher figure doesn't necessarily mean a stock is better or worse. Instead, it indicates that investors have been trading that stock more actively relative to its size.

In the latest data, Qatar German for Medical Devices (QGMD) stands out with a Share Turnover Velocity of 15.2, far ahead of the rest of the market.  Despite having a market capitalization of approximately QAR 149 million, its shares recorded more than QAR 2.26 billion in trading value over the last twelve months. 

The next highest names are Al Faleh (3.2), Baladna (2.7), Widam Food (2.5), and Mazaya Real Estate (2.0).

For investors, this metric provides another lens for understanding market activity. Stocks with higher turnover velocity tend to attract more trading interest and see shares change hands more frequently. That can reflect stronger liquidity, heightened investor attention, or periods of increased speculation—but the metric alone doesn't explain why trading is elevated.

Like any single indicator, Share Turnover Velocity is most useful when combined with other measures such as valuation, earnings, profitability, and business fundamentals. It helps answer an important question: Which stocks are investors actively trading, relative to their size?
