Three Stocks Make Up More Than Half of Total Profit Pool in Qatar

Three companies generate more than half of Qatar’s listed profits.

The latest LTM figures show a striking concentration of earnings on the Qatar Stock Exchange. Out of a

total listed net profit of QAR 20.25 billion, just three companies contribute 61% of the entire profit pool.

Here's the breakdown:

Qatar National Bank (QNBK): QAR 8.85 billion (44%)

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIBK): QAR 2.23 billion (11%)

Ooredoo (ORDS): QAR 1.19 billion (6%)

All other listed companies combined: 39%

Why does this matter?

For investors, it highlights how concentrated corporate profitability is within Qatar's equity market. A

relatively small number of companies account for the majority of listed earnings, meaning these

businesses naturally attract significant attention from investors, analysts, and institutions.

It also provides useful context when following market results. Strong earnings growth or weaker-than-

expected performance from these three companies can have an outsized influence on the overall profit

picture of the exchange. Looking only at the aggregate market profit may therefore hide what's

happening across the rest of the listed companies.

That doesn't automatically make these companies better investments, nor does it mean smaller

companies lack opportunities. It simply shows where most of today's listed earnings are being

generated.

Understanding where profits are concentrated is one more way to better understand the structure of

the market before making any investment decisions.
